The Empire State Building honored the New-York Historical Society on October 19, 2009, by illuminating its world-famous tower lights in psychedelic tie-dye colors to celebrate the October 21 benefit for the Grateful Dead Archive at UC Santa Cruz and the upcoming exhibition The Grateful Dead: Now Playing at the New-York Historical Society, opening March 5, 2010. Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead were the guests of honor at the reception.

To commemorate this historically unlikely occasion, the New-York Historical Society and Grateful Dead Productions produced this limited edition Giclée. With artwork by Scott McDougall and the design by Steve Vance, this poster is truly stunning.

Each print’s reverse side is handsomely printed with “Certified Limited Edition Giclee / Printed under the authority of Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. 2009.” The edition is limited to 195, and each is hand-numbered. The Giclée is printed with high-density pigmented inks on heavyweight paper. The dimensions are 24” x 24”.
